Barry Moyer Member, MAIF International Advisory Board Hanshi Moyer is a 9 th Dan in Shorin-Ryu and 8 th Dan in Ju Jitsu. In 1972 he founded the International Moy-Ryu Karate-Do Federation to build unity in the Martial Arts. 1972 Founded and Developed the Moy-Ryu Karate-Do system and continues to develop the system to this date from the large number of styles he has studied. So Moy-Ryu means simplicity the best of all. Influenced from the styles of Shotokan Shorin-Ryu, Goju-Ryu, Shito-Ryu, Ju Jitsu, Kenpo, Zen Neise and Kyokushinkai. Although being Head of system Hanshi Moyer will not accept any higher rank than he has received from his study of Shorin-Ryu and Shuri-te. 1994 was granted Head of System and after an additional 2 years of review, in 1996 was granted Hanshi title.
Founded the USRBBOF – United States Registry of Black Belts, Martial Arts Organizations, Federations and Associations Hanshi Moyer has been studying the martial arts for over 42 years and has been teaching for over 35 years. Hanshi Moyer is a specialist in Personal Protection and training for Bodyguards. And is a Graduate of the Indiana and Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy’s and has taught many police agencies throughout the United States in police self-defense tactics. Former Chief of Police and Deputy Sheriff. Hanshi Moyer sits on many Boards from testing to competition on National Circuit. Nationally and Internationally ranked in areas of Kobudo, Karate and Ju Jitsu.
